Yoga For Lunch : You deserve a break today!
Join us for an hour Yoga class during your lunch hour.
This class will incorporate pranyama and asana and will leave you relaxed and energized to continue through the day. Break up your day, and return to work with a clear mind, and relaxed body that will help concentration and productivity.
We invite everybody, new to yoga or an accomplished yogi to this class.
Kundalini Yoga : Kundalini Yoga is a dynamic form of yoga that awakens awareness.
It uses sets of yogic postures and movements (asana) with meditative focus, breath work (pranayama), and chanting (mantra). In addition to strengthening the health and well-being of the physical body, it is very useful for emotional balance, mental clarity, stress relief, and personal transformation.
The word "Kundalini" means awareness. In yogic tradition, Kundalini is the latent spiritual energy within every person that can be awakened by the practice of yoga.
Yoga- Iyengar Style : Iyengar Yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga which focuses on precise alignment of the physical body. It is known for its use of props such as straps, blocks, bolsters and benches to aid the student in doing the asanas or postures more easily and as a supported tool for restorative poses. Based on the traditional eight limbs of yoga by Patanjali, of which Asana is the emphasis, it is oriented towards developing strength, stamina, flexibility and balance in the practitioner.
Through the practice of a system of asanas, it aims to unite the body, mind and spirit for health and well-being. This discipline is considered a powerful tool to relieve the stresses of modern-day life which in turn can help promote total physical and spiritual well-being.
Iyengar Beginner Level emphasizes learning standing poses as a basis for acquiring correct alignment, which will later be carried into seated poses, and preparation for inversions. Once a month there is a review of pranayama (breath regulation) and restorative poses.
Iyengar Intermediate Level requires that students be able to do hand stand, head stand and shoulder stand in a supported manner (against the wall), to later master free-standing inversions and variations. More advanced forward bends, twists and backbends are also covered. Additional pranayama techniques are taught.
Yoga- Hot Bodhi: The Bodhi tree is the space under which the Buddha sat and found enlightenment. Come join us for a mind, body, and spirit enlightening experience.
Our Hot Yoga classes are based on the Indian tradition of practicing in the heat. By practicing yoga in a room heated to 90-100 degrees, the muscles and joints are gently warmed improving flexibility and relaxation. Sweating cleanses the body of toxins and aids the bodys ability to heal itself. Conscious deep breathing promotes mindfulness in your practice.

Tai Chi theory and practical application are important components of each class as are relaxation and having fun.
Qigong: Qi is the body's life force energy which is responsible for our vitality. Gong means skill, work or foundation. Qigong (sometimes written as Chi Kung) then is the practice of accumulating and cultivating vital life force energy (qi) in the body. This is achieved through the coordination of physical exercises, meditation and visualization, and breathing exercises. Qigong developed into a systematic healing art that integrates body, mind and spirit and is a main branch of traditional Chinese medicine. The effects of qigong practice include prevention and healing of disease, relief from stress, improved physical strength, improved mental focus, improved sexual function, spiritual enrichment and a slowing of the aging process.
Tai Chi and Qigong are taught by Fred Chavez who has been a tai chi (taiji) and qigong practitioner since 1992. During that time he has studied the Chen, Yang and Sun styles of tai chi and numerous forms of qigong.
He has been a Certified Tai Chi for Arthritis (TCA) Instructor with the Arthritis Foundation since January 2007. In December 2008, he became a Certified Instructor of Evidence-Based Taiji and Qigong (EBT) with the Center for Taiji and Qigong Studies. (www.centerfortaiji.com)
